Free Friday Takeaways
Our Neighbourhood CIC, have been running in invaluable project for residents suffering with the cost-of-living crisis since August 2021. Each week a group of volunteers meet at Leaf Hall Community Kitchen to cook together 150 dinners for people needing help with food. Each person on the weekly list gets a hearty portion of homemade soup, and two delicious dinners as food for the weekend.
Residents are referred by Social Services, Children’s Services, & Eastbourne Foodbank. Residents in need of help can also self -refer.
Having been funded by other funders up to this point, in August ‘23 Devonshire West Big Local awarded Our Neighbourhood £5306 to continue running the service for residents.
