Leaf Hall Building
Leaf Hall is a Grade 2 listed building in Devonshire West.
It was built in 1861 by philanthropist William Leaf as a community resource, sharing the same aims as Devonshire West Big Local. It is now a Community Arts Centre with a Community Kitchen. Money has been allocated, along with match funding money obtained, to restore the building and provide disabled access. Making it an accessible and safe for residents to use will be one of the lasting legacies of Devonshire West Big Local.

Leaf hall essential repairs were funded by Devonshire West Big Local and the John Jackson Charitable Trust.
Sunday 25th September 2022 saw the “Grand Re-opening” of Leaf Hall Community Arts Centre.
The Mayor, accompanied by the Mayoress, opened the centre and were taken on a guided tour to see the newly completed building work. During the day visitors were entertained by “My Charleston” dance group; “Soul Train” and “Exercise for the Over 50’s.” There was a generous raffle and Tombola in the Library, and the Kitchen was stacked high with a very sumptuous array of food, which was enjoyed by all.
The Trustees were delighted by the attendance of a large number of local people, together with representatives of organisations looking for a venue to host their own activities.
“It was wonderful to hear how much people appreciated Leaf Hall’s presence in the community, and we hope to be able to serve them for many years to come” said Leaf Hall’s Trustees.
